People can do what they want but that’s a dangerous game to play.

Not really. It’s actually a pretty easy argument if it comes down to it. The company said it will be an approved item. They also provided a link to buy it and allowed us to use our uniform bank on it. I also saw a respected sim instructor wearing one a week or so ago. Aren’t those guys pseudo management or something? Or at least they are under a microscope to some degree so if nobody told him not to wear it then we’re probably good.

to each their own...if the company wants to invest energy over a pilot wearing a uniform item that has been “pre-approved” and just waiting on the FOM, instead of using that energy over fixing the gate checklists / IAC’s with flimsy lamination and forgetting to indent the Trims yet again, then our priorities are WAY off.

Since we are talking about what the FOM does and doesn't say, the first offense for wearing the uniform incorrectly is a verbal counseling and it takes 4 offenses in 24 months before there is any actual discipline.

I see guys out of uniform all the time . Most wear whatever they want . I think they have bigger fish to fry right now rather than just worry about some dingleberry wearing a north face jacket or something like that.

Like wearing a mask in the cockpit. Only when John Q. Public is watching.

I saw another pilot wearing the new jacket on Monday. I sure hope he didn’t get in trouble for that.

Well, it’s in the FOM now. The debate is over.
