MVP Gold

This is a direct result of the Alaska policy that "MVP Golds can do no wrong." They even conducted crew training to that effect years ago. Why? Because they contribute more $$ to the bottom line than average passengers.

At the very least, management seems to have taken a proactive line in this case. Not that they had any choice.

In other news, this can't be good:

Alaska Airlines sued after gran fell down escalator | Daily Mail Online

The guy in the video acted very fast and flew to rescue her, kudos to him. Still, sad what happened.

Sadly, its always individual Alaska employees that do outstanding community/customer service and then airline management takes the credit.

When you hire the 5th best wheelchair/ escort company, neglect of your customers is part of the risk. It’s the old adage “you get what you pay for”. You would think the 5th best management team would know that by now.

They're 5th best at learning what the consequences of their actions are.
