Flight 1598, SFO-PSP has been canceled the last three days. Are you guys starting to have staffing issues causing cancellations? Work slowdowns? Or just bad luck three days in a row?

I don’t think those specific cancellations are related to staffing issues, not to say we’re peoperly staffed, but those flights did not cancel due to lack of crews.
With that said, we have been getting emails from Scheduling offering premium pay for pick ups out of open time the last few days. These have been somewhat common for CAs in lax and sfo for a while, but now they offered also for FOs, that’s a first since mid last year...

Maybe their doing the old American Eagle tactics of the early 2000's, if you have a few flights that are only 1/2 full, cancel one of them and make them wait for the next one.
AE used to do that in Florida at least all the time, and twice on Sundays.

They’ve been canceling some random flights lately. A few transcons and I think a few Hawaii flights as well. With some planes getting painted it wouldn’t surprise me if we’re running thin on planes, or it’s just typical Alaska incompetence

Might have to do with the 4 hour flow delays the last few days into Sfo.

So I would say its either your incompetence claim or the flow delays which impact shorter flights the most.

Oh. I thought I read somewhere that 20 or so airplanes were being painted this year. Good to know
