No, but there ARE times when the base you might want (especially PDX and ANC) have a limited number of positions and it may close. Additionally, as the Buses leave there very well could be a reorganization of pilot bases. I wouldn't be surprised to see SFO and LAX shrink back to their pre-merger sizes. As airplanes leave there will be displacements and even possible furloughs. If you're already on the Boeing, the chance of you getting displaced to somewhere you don't want to go reduces considerably.

There’s only one thing to be sure of here right now.... disarray and confusion.... which... under normal circumstances might just be a negotiation tactic, but given that mismanagement produced the company’s own self inflicted job action during the Christmas push with accompanying headlines nationwide, that didn’t have anything to do with the pilots, I think we can chalk it up to other things.
In two years here’s the score:
“Most West Coast” has been ceded to SkyWest
The Incredible Shrinking Growth Model has gone from 7 to 4 to 2ish.
Loss of Delta codeshare along with any of their codeshare partners.
Loss off American codeshare. Beginning to lose theirs as well.
While other airlines are doing whatever they need to do to INCREASE routes and aircraft.... in the face of the Max debacle... we’re getting rid of aircraft with no replacements.
The eternal postponement of fleet plan.
Two years worth of management citing “unrelenting competition” as the reason for its decisions, which begs the questions “What other kind of competition is there or did you expect?”
Bottom line is, if you’re on the outside looking in... We don’t know... ANYTHING. Whether “they do” is just speculation. So, just factor that into your decision making process.

Please sell me with the airframes. At this point I will gladly be sold to AA to get away from this circus!😉

That’s not how a reduced Airbus pilot works. He/she can bid into ANY position their seniority holds even if there’s no opening there, and force the very bottom guy out of that base/seat/plane. Once the Buses leave, there better be equal to or greater than Boeing vacancies. If not, it’s the Boeing guys who will be displaced and downgraded too.

No one me is going to be reduced... 800 individuals are going to get some training. It should be pretty civil, I am sure though, in 10 years, new hires are going to hear about the glory days of long ago, when we had “Airbuses”.

The latest bid had 20 Bus reductions and in the end 5 were reduced.

You said no one is going to be reduced. They were. Of course there is a “choice” but it still means a different base, seat, or both. That’s like saying I chose LA after NY closed. I mean, I guess choosing LA over SF is a choice, but I didn’t choose for NY to be closed in the first place.
