Quote: Holy Moly that’s creepy behavior. Did she think that she was intimidating these guys? I know a lot of pilots complain about the culture at their given company, but if this type of behavior from senior management is in any way indicative of a workplace environment, I feel truly sorry for the Alaska folks. I wonder how many junior folks are going to be dusting off their resumes after seeing this despicable attempt at intimidation.
She could have been telling to keep up the good work for all we know. Lots of assumptions on here.

Just a guess but I doubt that she was dressing them down. No COO is that dumb to think that intimidation tactics will have any effect in the current climate and culture. She is a 30+ year Army veteran so I wouldn’t rule out passive aggressive/sarcastic behavior but it would have been cordial at least. We’ll soon find out what was said. Everyone just chill.

Well she didn’t have the wherewithal to think how her actions could be viewed in the court of public opinion. So even if you're right, she's still wrong. Not a good look, and looks matter when you're a public figure.

There’s literally nothing good that can come out of that. Even if she said “hey guys, we hear you, we support you, we want to come to an agreement too,” or something else encouraging or charismatic or whatever, engaging directly with picketing pilots is a bad look. Save it for your own press release or statement on the matter. Even if she said something positive, actions speak louder than words. Get a fair agreement done. Otherwise, avoid being in the same photo/video with picketing pilots altogether. Especially with commander-ish body language appearing as if you’re inspecting the ranks.

It looks to me like intimidation attempt. Don’t think it will work.

I believe she was only in the army around 8 years.

I agree, she should not have been there and get caught on camera. As much as I hate this phrase but “perception is reality”. She does have a get-out-of-jail-free card.

I wonder if she knew BOB.

She was positive, she is very pro pilot. She has to straddle a very fine line. She was not trying to intimidate, she was trying to listen… to show she cared. The video optics are terrible though.

All that said, lets see that new contract, stop wasting our time. AS pilots are done waiting, done wanting you to listen, we are ready for action. We don’t want respect, we want an industry contract!
