Congratulations, all.

Congrats all! Make sure to give your crews a nice treat. Wouldn't have been possible without our awesome MEC and NC.

And for it to be implemented in a year and a half! Woooohoooo!!!!! Perhaps in a year you will feel ripped off and angry or we might all be facing furloughs. I've seen enough booms in this industry to know they don't last and we're still making less money than we were in the 90s (in aggregate and adjusted for inflation). |

None of that matters now because the TA is going to pass with something like an 85% vote in favor of ratification.
The company bargaining in good faith does not necessarily buy them an extra couple of years in mediation. Bargaining in good faith is simply the bare-bones legal requirement that arises out of the RLA's obligation to "exert every reasonable to make and maintain agreements." If the mediator senses that movement toward an agreement is still possible by using the various tactics available to a mediator to spur on negotiations, then mediation will continue (unless mediation proceeds on a basis that is "patently arbitrary" and for a period that is "patently unreasonable"). If the mediator determines that the parties are at an impasse, then they will recommend to the NMB that the parties be released from mediation. This could happen in months or in years. In the case of the railroads that just wrapped up a few weeks ago, it took months. In many other cases, it has taken years. It's possible that both sides bargaining in good faith simply refuse to bend any further to the demands of the other despite the best efforts of the mediator to bring about an agreement. The Ninth Circuit explained in a 1980 RLA case that "obstinate and unyielding" positions do not violate the requirements of good faith bargaining. If "obstinate and unyielding" positions on both sides result in an impasse, then a release may become realistic in well under a couple of years even though both sides are bargaining in good faith. |

Posted the above on Oct 3 on the “Alaska Air Hiring” thread. I’m a SWA guy. Apparently, I have at least as good of a sense of the zeitgeist of the Alaska pilot group as “OTZEagle1,” who, if I recall correctly, predicted a 77% or 78% pass rate.

I have seen the data dude, this thing will pass by 78% +-3%…. Write it down dude. There are only approximately 230 clowns in your group. 😂 _____________________________________________ 78 + 3 = 81 😱 From the get go this was a 80% yes vote from our pilot group. I was way off, you are right. Maybe we should use decimals next time. I always new it is was a slam dunk at 75% as in the past I have watched the loud sower the reasonable. Yes sir, you absolutely proved yourself better and me wrong. You are definitely a SWA pilot dude! I was wrong, I am always wrong. Listen to the dirty 30, they have the world on a string. |

by the way 23 people have privately messaged me they are voting for the TA… not one no yet🤔 Our MEC had unprecedented polling numbers, they knew what the same 80% of adults wanted, remember you can’t fix crazy! Come back in 2 years, this won’t age well, right?🙄 How were my math skilz? I LOVE GUARANTEES! Hey Lew, kinda seems like I gave very specific numbers…not as accurate as you though?🤔 but never as good as a SWA pilot🥱🥱🥱 ☝️☝️☝️☝️☝️ |
What were the pay rate increases again? Also, I believe the snap up clause had 5 airlines…is it the highest of the 5? Congrats on the TA.
|
Holiday pay kicks in too, for those working Halloween and Turkey day...... Nevermind, looks like for Turkey day only, according to the text, no mention of Halloween......

Many of the roughly 112 that didn’t vote were EIL’s. Pilots that are already retired and felt they really didn’t have a dog in the fight. It was very nearly 100% participation, there are always a few, but we are talking a few.

We should get Halloween since it ‘touches’ the 1st !? I’m sure I’m way off in my thinking again…🤦♀️ |
Gratitude
Thanks to the volunteers for bringing this Billion dollar deal home. The AK pilots thank you!
|
Does your new holiday pay cover just hours flown on said holiday or the entire sequence that touches holiday? Thanks.

Jeez. You should throw a pity party with the 18%. Talk about how industry leading is a B scale and tell each other how much better you could have done at the table.

33k Signing bonus + 2 months retro for Captains. FO’s will probably end up with 30k total, at least before Uncle Sam takes his share.

Come on man, why you gotta put down the Corolla? One of the few new cars you can still get in a 6spd manual. :)
