Nope. They wouldn’t let us close the door until de ice showed up at the gate to spray us. A discussion occurred between the CO and CA. This was last week.

But that doesn’t tell the whole story….were you delayed, was the de-ice sequence long? How much past close out did they make you keep the door open?

The way I understand it is, the company is going to start paying you before the door closes. Normally we don't get paid until the door is closed... But that starts the tarmac delay clock. This way the crew doesn't have an incentive to start the clock early. You're already getting paid with the door open so just sit tight until the door needs to be closed

That is only when Severe IROPS is officially declared. Read the memo.

You're not in jeopardy of tarmac delays most of the time. That is why this applies only to severe irops.

They're micro-managing the de-icing and door-closure every day, but only paying at flight closure during Severe IROPS.

Good thing we rushed right out and signed the “Mandate Contract”……framework and protections like a wet noodle

Give me a break. They are managing THIER business, and THEIR bottom line in regards to the hefty tarmac delay fines. Don’t like it, go start your own airline.
