Alaska does not really work that way..Junior base today is senior tomorrow. New hires are fed in to vacancies created by seat and domicile bid results. Alaska does not get to just hire for a base. If they want pilots somewhere then it goes out to all pilots first to bid on. They might want to add new positions in pdx but it is not likely that those would be left fo a new hire.

SFO/LAX?
Heyo I know this question is repetitive, how long to hold SFO or LAX currently for newhires?
I’m a Bay Area native, finally landed an interview and will be moving back west after 4 years on the east coast. I would be living with family in the SF Bay area. |

If one were to accept a class in September or October, would SEA be available or are all new hires going to SFO or LAX?

All current vacancies from the last bid were SFO 737. It’d be anybody’s guess how long it would take to get back to SEA

Supposedly there is a bid coming September 12th. If you’re hired before that you should be able to bid in it.

And for clarity: “Hired” at Alaska is defined as “first day of ground school”. Job offers and class dates have no meaning. And there is no order to how pilots offered jobs get assigned a class.

Yup, just like everywhere else….why try and twist it and act like it is bad and only something Alaska is doing? Every post of yours has to be so dramatic…
