That is defined by Alaska Airlines as Flights operated by Alaska Airlines inc, Skywest Airlines inc, and Horizon Air Industries.
So if you are a regular commuter from Denver or Dallas or Chicago and those flights are switched to being operated by Horizon your commuting privileges just got removed as Alaska will not honor our contract. That leaves a gaping hole in your plans.
This goes the other way for Horizon guys commuting on mainline. A part of me dies every time I list “for pleasure travel” for my commute then watch all the vacationing Alaska families get cleared before me.

Well you dont work for Alaskan, you work for a regional that's a staffing agency. Why would you get priority on a company you dont work for

A bit abrupt but accurate.
Fact is there are no Horizon flts and there are no Skywest flights. There are only Alaska Airlines flights. And our PWA(contract) is the law when it comes to a number of things. Listing as a D8Y on “all flights controlled by Alaska Airlines” is one of those. Having boarding priority above “all other employee commuting programs” is another. When the DHC8-200 went away and legs started stretching out at QX the issue began popping up. With the parking of the DHC8-400 and the increase in “RJ’s” out operating in the Alaska system it is a major problem. And it will get resolved as it should. Paradigm shift at QX is happening rapidly as the
old guard moves on. Very real possibility that QX is going to become Dispatch, Pilots, FA’s and Mechs. I hope for their sake it comes sooner than later. It will be a marked improvement in job quality.
