Alaska signing bonus
From a FedEx pilot- word is from a buddy that our signing bonus will be computed in a similar way to the Alaska signing bonus. So………how did they compute who gets what with the Alaska signing bonus.

I can assure you that you’ll get more than any Alaska pilot got.
OP…tell us more about this sign on bonus you heard about, cause it’s news to the pilot group here. |

OP asked about our signing bonus, aka the bonus we received after signing our TA, and that guy just posted the language that answers OP's question. Are YOU drinking? |

Thanks. I guess we are doing something similar here. So for a new hire, it is prorated only for the months they were an active pilot, right? What happens if someone upgraded during that time? Are the months they were an FO at the FO rate and the months they were captain at the captain rate? Seems like a lot of calculations to figure out what everybody gets, but seems very fair. |

It actually wasn't bad. It was broken up into two parts basically. The first was the September 2022 and October 2022 pay. You just look back at what you credited for those months and take that credit and times it by the difference in new rates (75 hours each month and new rate is $40 higher, 150*40). IIRC, they cut a check for that a month after signing. The second was credit for service. It was from 10/2021 - 8/2022 so 11 months. They paid each month active at $2000 for FO and $3000 for CA. New hire starting on 1/1/2023 would get 8 months so $16,000. FO who upgraded on 1/1/2023 would get 3 months at FO rate (3*2000) and 8 months at CA rate (8*3000) so $30,000 etc etc For the second portion, ALPA put out a list with just employee numbers and gave the pilots a week or so to review that it matched what they believe they were owed. If there was a discrepancy, you could take it up with ALPA and the company before that payment was processed. |

Just to pile on, that’s literally exactly the discussion here. There’s no need to get defensive when there’s nothing to defend.
He's a new hire, wasnt even around during last fall |

You guys are talking about two entirely different things.
There is no new hire signing bonus at Alaska. There was a contract signing bonus for the CBA. |

If you are a FedEx pilot asking about the FedEx signing bonus, I believe last time it was what seat you were activated in when the contract was ratified. The bonus was I think but not sure, something like $60K Capt, $45K FO. I may be wrong on the amounts. I didn't matter if you were activated as a Capt 1 day, you got the full $60K. The bonus was paid in Dec and then June I think.
Alaska Airlines sent me the “update your app and we’ll contact you as soon as we have an update” email. Does this mean they will be bringing me in for an interview when I send the update? Thanks |
