My brother just finished IOE at UAL. He said that they had to dress up for the first day of class but were able to wear jeans and polos for all other days. He also said that hotel was furnished from day 1 through IOE, Mondays started at noon to allow commute in and last day of the week ended early to allow commute out, uniform provided by UAL with no cost to new pilot and dry cleaning was provided for free whenever the pilot wanted to have the uniform cleaned.

I believe that Alaska does not provide hotel of any sort during training but how about the other items?

Thrill 08-31-2014 02:15 PM

This is easy. No hotel. You pay for the uniforms. Laundry can be expensed if on a 4 day trip.

Business casual in training. Khakis and polos good.

So the window was supposed to be closed on 9/01. Two days beyond the deadline now, it appears to still be open on their careers page. Anyone know why? Also, I'd be interested to know the number of qualified apps they received this go around. Anyone on the inside have an idea of app count for this window?

Packrat 09-03-2014 05:04 PM

Last I heard they had over 3000 apps with 320+ with internal recommendations.
