There will not be any new hire classes until Q4.

Ten minutes after I read your post, I got an email (presumably sent to the entire CJO pool of candidates) confirming exactly this....

just info the Union and Company has put out already, hiring is done for most of the year at least, downgrades were prevented at this point by the EILs, but if things are as bleak as has been posted here on this forum, they will certainly be on the table going forward, and like I said typically downgrades are accompanied by furloughs, although those have not been mentioned by the company or union to my knowledge.

I'm really hoping you're in no way responsible for any financial matters where my employment seniority number happens to reside.

The first shoe dropped today… EXPE

I made 4x on BTC and didn’t feel like riding it back to 20k
I sold at 43… there is no way that 43 is the bottom for 2024.
Im sincerely happy for your returns, maybe I’ll be wrong. I didn’t have 40k of BTC though, it was more than 5,000k.

BTC will drop 7% next week and be down 18% by the end of February 🤷‍♂️… that’s my best guess

Amazing! Thank you.

Great staffing predictions as well. DM just announced no IL offered for May.

Inverse OTZ, even better than inverse Cramer?

I know we're not hiring but posting as a reference for prospective new hires down the road.

Reserve rules updated as of May 2024 to coincide with PBS implementation. Everyone starts on long call (14 hour call out), theoretically unlimited conversions to short call but paid each time converted and not used. 18 days of reserve per scheduling month.

Many more details but hopefully this helps someone later.

When calling in sick on reserve are you charged the entire trips credit/ that days scheduled credit/ just min day guarantee?

You are charged 2:50 per reserve day.

I believe if you call in sick after a trip is assigned, you get charged 2:50 for that day and put back on reserve for the remaining days. If you're still sick, you call in day-by-day, unless you broke your leg or something and it's obvious you're done for the whole week.

It's generally OK to call in sick after a trip is assigned if you're on LCR and you get sick many hours after assignment, ie trip assigned the day before and you wake up with a sniffle. I wouldn't make a regular habit of it though. And I wouldn't call in two hours before a show in SFO from your home in Orlando.

Calling sick after a SCR call-out will probably result in some 'splainin' to the BCP.

GoodJet 04-11-2024 08:53 AM

Granted we had different BCPs when I was on reserve, years ago but I was contacted by a BCP when I called out sick once on probation. I called in and was unaware that there had been a trip assignment, as I had not set up txt alerts or logged into crew access because I was quite sick. Apparently a trip had been assigned but the scheduler never mentioned it. Granted the email seemed like a form email and I responded to it without any follow up. So not too big of a deal in reality but it did seem like an issue when I was on probation.

I was also under the impression that if one calls in sick after a trip assignment that trip credit value is deducted from one's sick bank, not the lower value. If one calls out sick without an assignment the penalty is quite low but I thought it was 3.50 not 2.50.

14.C.2. of the CBA just says 2:50 for a reserve sick day. No mention or distinction of assignment vs no assignment.
