You should try ANC-ORD that goes over 8 hrs most of the time. That I WON'T miss. And I agree w/ FIIGMO that anything over 3 should be a 75.

Baja.

Maybe Central America would be a "long, thin" route?

at Alaska we no longer have an aircraft to operate "long thin routes....we will have The EMB operators handle that for us....When we got the 737-700, John Kelly told us that we finally had the perfect aircraft to open and operate long thin routes.......shows what he knew

Sure, we have some smart people up in management. Then we have had some "not so smart" ones, like the some who thought the -700 was bigger than the -400; true story.
We should never forget that we've been very blessed, lucky, or whatever you want to call it. I cringe every time our management pipes in with their arrogance, aka big watch-small d**k syndrome. Arrogance is the root of downfall, as my mamma used to say.

Speaking of Stooopid. I'm reminded of the time they announced flights from YVR-SNA before they realized SNA is not an international airport.

So, we get hats, and ERJ 175's, all in a month. We ARE becoming delta. Hopefully this place stays fun, and the "good old days" aren't behind us.

...based on our customer`s feedback, we are planning on reinstating the policy of the mandatory wear of the hat in the next few months.

This management never seizes to amaze this pilot group-so completely out of touch and lacking the basic leadership skills.:o It's another way to check the "accountability" box, except they lack the wisdom and knowledge to come up with something that's going to work. They can't LEAD let alone manage their people effectively.
What they mean to say is, "since we are running out of more bull $hit mandates to bust your chops and most importantly, in order to justify our self worth, we are now requiring ya'll pilots to wear your hats. This is another FOM mandate which will be used against you, if the need arise".
Seriously, does anyone think that wearing hats is going to boost revenue and attract customers? How's that PA made by some over weight grey haired slob who is really not trained with any public speaking skills working out? That really instills confidence in the flying public, doesn't it? If appearance is what they are after, then perhaps the proper way to approach this issue is to have standards like the military. Putting lipstick on a pig comes to mind. Once again, the pilots are the punching bag. Thanks ALPA!
