So, probably a lots of all-nighters, low-time trips, and sits.

There's a reason LAX is the junior base, the red-headed b@stard stepchild. There is no life south of Seattle.

Or maybe the people who live here know that 80% of the pilots who staff LAX commute meaning that the majority of pilots on RSV who commute would much rather fly than rot in a crashpad which allows the pilots who live in LA to more than likely sit at home and not work while on RSV.

We get it, you hate Alaska Airlines. Enough already.

Or maybe?

Possible but not the underlying reason.

Are you Or have ever been LAX-based? If so, when and how long?.

Again, theres a reason LAX is junior. I doubt things have changed since I voluntarily left Alaska for greener (red, white, and blue) pastures.

Hate is such a strong word.

Again, wash that PayDay candy bar down with another big swig of KoolAid. But, before you do, make sure you're wearing your rose-colored glasses. While you're at it, give yourself a 35% pay cut. Then, make yourself a furlough notice and arrange to have it delivered on Christmas Eve.

Lastly, when you have some time, Google Stockholm Syndrome.

You are right if you look back to the last 10 years. Looking forward, I think you're a bit short-sighted.

You're gone. Seems like you think you made the right choice, good for you. Can you please let this thread be about new-hires, not your aged opinions?

For your guys sake, I truly hope that my opinions and the experiences of me and my contemporaries is indeed a thing of the past.

His opinions still ring markedly true true today. Our management is garbage and care zero about you, the same as they always have. Its nice that you all are excited about the new job, congratulations and welcome..but expect to endure years of lying, deceit, and anger watching one of these cowards smile and lie to your face while the other kneels behind you stealing your wallet

The reasons LAX is junior:

1. Cost of living in CA.
2. Lines poorly constructed, usually with a turn at the end of a 4 day trip.
3. Lots of commuters at ALL the LAX based airlines making going home a nightmare.

So which airline is not like that? American only gave that pay raise when pilots leaving stated costing them more than they wanted to spend. Management is not on your side anywhere. Wonder how all of those that left American feel about going back to square one now that the pay went up?

Might want to study the past of the company you work for now.

Kind of the theme in all of these threads. Hopefully we can keep the Poolie thread relatively positive. I'm going to try and revive Positive Pam.

Positivity?

OK, Here's a cute monkey video. Everybody likes monkeys. That's positive.

Moral of the story? Just know what you're getting into or you'd best like cucumbers; because, no grapes for you.
