The highlight of the article is “the plane landed safely and the crew reported it to be smooth.” Which means they were never near any danger at all as they were above most of it. But the article talks about storm chasers flying through it at 10,000 ft and flying at 200 to avoid breaking apart. Sounds like another shot at G4 with manipulative fake news tactics. Nothing to see here.

Default Ecam is an idiot

Ecam is an XXXXXXX. Please stop posting. You are a XXXXXXX. You are embarrassing the Allegaint pilot group. The best thing you can do is to remove yourself from all of social media, for the good of the pilot group.

The same can’t be said about he decision to overfly a hurricane (you’re not there yet) and your options are greatly reduced if things go downhill while over it.
I guess I better not fly over mountains or water from now on.

Well if you haven’t considered SE drift down, then you probably shouldn’t

To an untrained eye you could pull up at least 5 screenshots on any given day where You can see an airline doing something exceedingly dangerous, but in all reality they are perfectly safe. Either you lack aviation knowledge or you are trying to make something out of nothing. I’m willing to bet both. This “event” has no basis for dialog beyond a normal everyday flight. But feel free to over exaggerate anything and everything that comes from social media, it seems to be the popular thing to do these days.

Nailed in on the head! Smooth is clearly not an airline pilot. Or maybe an incompetent one if that.

You realize driftdown is calculated for every flight? It's even on the first page of our release lol. I would also venture to guess, that data is near the first page of the release for every airline in the U.S.

Good for you though for thinking you know some trade secret that the rest of us are unaware of lol.

Driftdown INTO the storm from the top, numbnuts. Not a terrain issue in this case.

Scroll two posts up. Smooth was making a point about not flying over mountains without drift down data.
