Default Hurricane Michael and VPS base?

I have heard that VPS was pretty much untouched by this major hurricane. However, I have only heard from somebody who did a few quick turns there rather than an overnight. Is this the case? Were any pilots living near VPS adversely affected by this hurricane, or has the news blown the disaster out of proportion?

VPS and the surrounding area (Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar, Niceville, Crestview) were untouched.

Michael hit about 60 miles to the east in the vicinity of Panama City, Lynn Haven and ECP. The news did not blow the damage out of proportion. The area hit is in really bad shape and it is going to take years to rebuild but it just wasn't in the vicinity of VPS.
