This is my opinion:
The 737 type shows you want to go to Southwest. You are qualified to go there. You are over qualified, if you really want Allegiant more than WN you should go to a meet and greet and tell them why.

Default One year

Give it a year at the regionals, this will
get you current again and worst case you could get flow but you would be looking at 7 years. Interview with Allegiant soon, I too have 737 and it took a long while to get a call. I went and did a meet and greet.

Now here's what I'm thinking may be the major reason: recency. I've been out of the cockpit for over a decade (had to leave work to take care of my son and his health issues). So 1.) I have no recency (except for a little recreational GA) and 2.) I'm a lot older (44).

My ultimate goal is to get on with Allegiant and based out of BLI. If recency is the main reason for my rejection at this point, would it be best to get back into the commuters to build time (uhg)? Or would any time work, ie: local island hopping, corporate ops (mostly light twins).

Any thoughts, opinions?
Thanks!

You guys are reading too much into this. The application review is definitely not a Delta style points system.. it's based on what the needs are when you apply, and honestly some dumb luck. If you really want to get on with Allegiant, go to a meet-greet or a job fair. It's by far the best way to get a call.

I agree with 9easy. I had my app with AAY active and constantly updating for like 6 years and nothing so I deleted it. I go to OBAP and have a ten minute conversation, was offered an interview.

Meet and greets, job fairs, etc., do take time away from your days off but it’s worth it

Allegiant sees you leaving for a major, so that's why.
