Default Headset?

Does Allegiant require a TSO’d headset? My current one is not. If so, any recommendations on headsets for the bus? Assuming most people take it off above FL180 anyway?

Majority of people just use the plane headsets (either a telex or sennheiser) and take them off above 180. The bus is pretty quiet, and on the rare occasions that I’ve brought my own, I actually leave the noise cancellation off, as it feels too quiet to me. There are a few guys that bring their own, and even fewer amongst those are the guys that like to leave them on during cruise, which can be frustrating as an fo who doesn’t bring theirs, kind of have to defer to the captains preference.

also, if you do end up bringing your own, please do the right thing, and plug the plane’s set back in when you leave.

Thanks for the replies. Do most have the Airbus plug or the dual plugs like most planes? I think I’ll pick up a set of Telex 8s just because I’d prefer to bring my own.

I’d put it somewhere around 90% Airbus pins, 10% dual

You can buy the Airbus adapter on Amazon for $20-30 I think. Then you can use your headset in both configurations.
