Pure reserve line, never got called. Picked up 3 trips on days off, pulled off and pay protected for 1 of those trip for OE.

Just because you don't fly, doesn't mean you're not working. You worked at least 19 days last month because your union only negotiated 12 days off, unless it's a "busy month" and then they can reduce your days off. Nice try though.

Ok, let’s go with the first scenario of 1 week of vacation and a training event.

First year captain at $152/hr:

-16 hours of home study pay at $75/hr: $1,200
-22.1 PCH for training at $152/hr: $3,359
(22.1 PCH is what I credited for my last PC)
-20 PCH for 1 week of vacation at $152/hr: $3,040
-14 PCH for operating 2 flights at $152/hr: $2,128

16 hours home study + 56.1 PCH = $9,727

However, we have a 70 PCH min guarantee = $10,640

$10,640 + Home Study Pay ($1,200) = $11,840 pre tax (no per diem included).

Reserve day is still a work day in my book. If I can't drink beer, it's not a day off!

Maybe to satisfy your technicality I shoulda said 'went into work', or 'put on my uniform'. But you're right, and it was a brutal 19 days of work... hiking, biking, taking kids to school, building a fence, putting in grass, movie and lunch with wife at 11am... Dude said life is so bad people are leaving for regionals, I beg to differ.

It's a great time to be an airline pilot and we all have lots of options. Personally I'll take 12 days off (it's usually more), 6-10 hour duty days, home at night, and good but not best pay and benefits... you choose differently and good for you.

Fish how is probation at Delta going, you guys do get a lot of time off? You went to a Delta class about what 3 or 4 months ago, so you interviewed sometime late spring or early summer? Just in time to cast your no vote before you left? Lol. Looks like DAL finally opened up the gates for G4 peeps. For a long time, the rumor was GB put the kibosh on us. You must be one of few here and there that got hired recently. What airplane did you get, was it the Airbus, same airplane you were flying here right? Congrats.

Do they have an Airbus base in NYC?

Fish is a new hire in NYC? Score! Probably maddog then. Hopefully fish is blazing a trail for any and all G4r’s that want to leave. The curse of GB is gone for sure. Congrats again fish, Republic, Allegiant then Delta. In less than about 3 years. Well done.

Ha, no Republic for me. Yes, NYC based, by choice, but not on the 88. I could hold any base on my AC except MSP. I was lucky to be born with a high last 4 social security number. I haven't even finished training and I'm running 90% in base. I'm not the only guy to jump ship for Delta from G4 and have been helping anyone that wants to come here anyway I can.
