Default E Logbook Transfer from DECS

I'm having a hell of a time learning how to use DECS/SABRE as a new hire. I'm sure many of you did, too. 1980s tech... I guess thats another thread.

I was concerned how to get the info onto my e logbook. The output method under the logbook tab on the APA site didn't give me just the raw data, but a lot of data I couldn't do anything with. So with a TON of help and a lot of digging, I've found how to get the data for your e logbook. I use Log10 Pro, but this will work with all the others as well.

Go to the APA Sabre site, go to DECS links, select Main, and enter hi24a/month...for example...hi24a/apr. Then copy and paste this data (into the import schedule on LogTen using the American Airlines importer) wherever you need it. Much easier to use than the CSV export that Sabre generates.

Thanks to Clint and LuckyNow and anyone else I missed for your help.

Nice.

But you are a little off. The system is based on late 1950s programming. Came online in the early 60s.

Agreed. It sucks.

Between CCI and the APA app's drop down menus, you should be able to avoid learning a bunch of archaic Sabre entries.

Take the time to set up your CCI Preflight commands on an actual computer or Jetnet set at the airport. There's a tutorial for how to set it up on AA pilots. Huge time saver.

I use Logbook Pro and have tried in the past to find a way to import my flights to no avail. I get a "no data" response when I use that code. Any ideas? I'm on reserve if that helps. Thanks!

CSV is a very useful format. You can open with Excel or other spreadsheet program and tell it how you want it formatted when it opens. I use CSV all the time for small database stuff.

2. Bid or displacement bid pref.

I am guessing you have found the APA logbook. You can export in a variety of formats including CSV, which is probably your best option. Here is the direct:
https://tasc.alliedpilots.org/LogData/LogView.aspx
You will need to be signed in to APA prior to using the link.

I also provide a free simple flight log using the APA data:
Input-Page

If you are legacy USAir, your data only goes back to Oct 2016
