Let's just face it. The FA was simply being a Richard Cranium and started the whole incident. Phook him and his pansy arse. Do us all a favor and go do a job where you have no human interaction.

No.

Self-absorbed, crying woman who decided to bring the double wide stroller onboard the jet after being told NO started the whole incident.

Just in case you didn't know that.

What I find most annoying really is the sanctimonious, duplicitous response as approved by DP…doesn't reflect our caring values and deep sorrow for the pain caused by us! That and the public outcry of course. The same travelling public which demands personalized, curb to curb concierge service for bus fare pricing. Sure Doug, more than happy to extend all that patience & empathy which is so core to your expressed values onto each and every set of unique boarding circumstances within the 30 minutes scheduled. Hey, where do I put the prayer rug and my emotional support turkey?

So where was the gate agent as the double wide SUV was passing the boarding door. And what was the F/A who was at the main entry way as this stroller was brought onboard the jet thinking about? Two check valves that could and should have prevented this event turning into a media cirus with a clueless Dudley Do Right sticking his nose where it didn't belong.

Supposedly, the double-wide WAS tagged for gate check. Unless there was another agent or ramp guy at the bbottom of the jet bridge to take it from her before she boarded...she was being sneaky or stupid, take your pick. The FA at the boarding door either was pre-occupied with other passengers, (you know those first-class passengers, always wanting their ccognac and breadsticks! :D ); talking to the pilots, or any number of things. I seriously doubt any FA worth their weight would let something that big slip by.

Dudley Do Right was an ass, plain and simple. Should've been removed as soon as he opened his yap.

I'll be generous, and bestow both with a smudge of arrogance to boot.

DAL it's not. That's for sure. Although AA lacks the sophistication to serve Remy Martin.

In a New York second, that moron would be escorted of my jet.

Mine too. Displaying aggression of any kind drives you right to Category 1 in my book. AMF and I don't give a rip if you're an AA platinum.

Sorry, but I'm gonna break from the mold and call it like it is: over-inflated sense of power of certain cabin crews. And a huge part of that problem are pilots who help overly empower FAs during briefs.

Classic example. "If it's bumpy, or if you want the seat belt sign on, let me know!" Hey skipper, you've been flying for how many years now that you don't know when it's too bumpy for the sign to be on or off? There's a reason the seat belt sign switch is located in the flight deck - not the galley. And every time I hear a brief by the CA to the FAs about the seat belt sign, they invariably call at a random time when it's smooth and ask it to be turned on. Sitting on the back of several deadheads, I've seen that be the case to clear the aisles. I understand lines can form in the aft section for the bathroom. But the seat belt sign is not a tool or weapon to clear a bathroom line because the FA "just wanted it that way." That's not the intent or proper use of a seat belt sign.

Another example... "anyone give you a problem, let me know, we don't deal with that, we'll throw 'em off the plane." Literally word-for-word CA briefing to the FAs. Well gee, what do you think that's going to do? That may work for some ol timer FAs who have been around for decades and know how it works. NOT so much the case for first-time flight attendants (esp at my place) who are me-me millenials and on *every* flight have several non-sensical (almost irrelevant) items to beotch about. I cringe every time they get more and more feelings that they are empowered to kick people off.

There's a problem here.... but it isn't just passengers or smartphones or 2017.

Lead: "And you're going to back us up, right?"
Me: "More than likely. Every situation is different."
Lead: "You mean you're not going to back us up?"
Me: "Probably. But not automatically, no. Let's wait and see."
Lead:

Thank you for breaking the mold. It'd be nice if we had more pilots like that.

True story while taxiing out. Lead calls us, CA takes the call (I listen as well by selecting the cabin).
"Hey, I have a guest not listening to our instructions and he won't stop. He won't comply, can we go back to the gate?"
"Um, what exactly happened?"
"He wants to go the bathroom and says he can't hold it, but I told him no we are on an active taxiway about to takeoff."
"Ok, how about let him go, but call us back as soon as he's out?"
with a hint of annoyance in his voice, he says just: "Fine."
