Contract compliance said duty on a golden day is a big no no. They were up in arms about it. That indignation quickly faded. I was basically informed that to get me back to base as the contract stipulates scheduling can assign what they like on any day they like for operational necessity.

Life could be improved, and it wouldn't cost the company a cent. Probably could save a whole lot of money.

Just allow people to work their schedules out a bit more. So many sick and fatigue calls are expensive. I don't have numbers, but I bet we are setting some records for sick/fatigue/missed trips these days.

(Not everyone hates ODANs, for example. For people who live in base and have small kids, they would actually be a super deal.)

Only he, and other gods of his stature can depart CLT at 2230, land in Denver for a 1.5 hour sit only to fly back landing to CLT landing at 0600.

10 days off??? I'm currently getting 16-18 days off a month 75-85 hrs pay, not super senior. Junior guys are getting 10 off? We're not going to be able to attract or even retain pilots if this is true.

Last guy I flew with was telling everyone we’ve lost a hundred guys that were still in their first year. Seemed a wee bit high to me, maybe a handful...

Yea 10 off a month for 75 hours only makes sense of your bid status ONLY has 11 hour 3 day slash trips.

Only category I could think of that has that is PHX 757.

Sounds like an assignment that could be refused. Golden is not negotiable (though admittedly if you were stuck out there's not much that can be done - but then don't "ask" for premium just make sure you get it via any necessary channels).
