Organizational Fit Assessment
I had my app with American on pilot credentials since the end of June. At that time I completed the Organizational Fit Assessment. When I logged on recently it showed that I need to redo it. Does that mean I failed the Holgan test 6 months ago? Do you get any indication if you failed or passed the assessment? or do you have to do the test every six months on pilot credentials or something like that?
|
I’m not familiar with our hiring practices but I don’t think we have the “hogan” test.
|
I've had my app in for about 8 or 9 months. From what I've gathered here and a few other sites/sources, they reset some proportion every once in a while. Not sure why, whether it's a glitch or they're trying to get some new data. The people who it's happened to just retook it. There's no pass/fail feedback, other than the checkmark turns green and you should be okay.
|
Same with me. I had a message that said I didn’t score high enough. Like you, I don’t know if it was scored 6 mo ago, but it said I can’t retake until Apr. Oh well.
|
Military guy here that had to stay in for various reasons (mostly to do with BUPERS...to put it gently,) and I took that fit assessment probably 3-4 years ago now. My app 'checkmark' is still green and I've not had to re-take it due to any amount of longevity/time away from taking it. Don't know if that helps your question, but for me, no-retake required (thus far) due to length of time.
|
Just checked mine and it said I didn't score high enough. Can't retake until May. I'm retiring military and American said at their Veteran event last year that they won't look at your app until within 2 months of your availability date. I hit that on 1 Feb and then this showed up. Makes me think maybe they don't even look at the fit assessment until they look at your app. Just a thought.
|
Anyone got any good advice on how to pass this thing? I know “be honest” and “it shouldn’t take more than 20-30 min.” But man, I seem to always over analyze these things. Any and all advice is appreciated

Yeah I’ve done it twice now, with a reset in from the time. Never got a msg about scoring high OR low. Jumpseat on AA recently and the guy busted 280kts at 8k and hollered out whoops! I gotta try that, you never know what secrets in the sauce!

Same question. Mine just says it’s “been completed.”
Better yet, I have a new addition to my initial page after login. “Message: Please check all sections of your profile for accuracy.“ (Then again, it may have always said that. I get confused having an app in everywhere.) |
Additional info to the above question: my FedEx app does not have the same message.
Anyone see the same difference? |

How do you check that?

It’s odd that my pilotcredentials FedEx profile is different, but not impossible I guess. It could easily be extremely wishful thinking.
I’m even more confused by people saying they have a “score” on the assessment. I’ve never seen that one. |
I also have the
"Please check all sections of your profile for accuracy." cant remember if its always been there or not. |
I saw the same message even though I have not published (made visible) my profile, yet. So I don't think it flagged because someone reviewed the app. Must have been some automatic flag.

AA HR at NGPA last week said that the organizational fit assessment results would be almost instant going forward with a 6-month waiting period to re-attempt after a failure. She was unclear as to when/if those apps that were already on file would be retroactively scored. Best bet is to check your app early and often. Good luck.

I recently looked at mine; it says I didn't score high enough and can retake March 11. I completed it originally in September (I think). It would be nice if someone here who completed it and passed could provide some intel.
The only thing showing on the fit assessment page of my app is: “Welcome to the Organizational Fit Assessment of the Pilot Selection Process! Organization Fit Assessment has been completed.” That’s it. Rest of the page is blank. |

I would love to but I still don’t understand what everyone is looking at; as in, what “score?”

Ok - that I will assume with nothing else available. People were talking about a “score” and I just have no idea what that means. (The Hogan was also brought up but I didn’t think that was an AA process?)

"* Message * You have completed the Organizational Fit Assessment but unfortunately you did not score high enough to move forward in our process. Provided the application window is still open, you are eligible to retake the assessment on 11-mar-2018. Thank you for your time and interest in American Airlines." That's what I get for trying to over-analyze every lame question....oh well. |

It doesn't have an actual score or number. This is what mine says, directly under the checklist with all the green check marks:

I made sure I stayed consistent in my answers, meaning keep the same view/opinion on issues. I took mine years ago but I do remember seeing a pattern. For example,I believe there were questions that could pertain to safety and I always choice the answer that put safety first. Try and keep all of your answers consistent. Not sure if this is the answer to passing, but it’s what I did and it worked for me. Good luck!
Ace the Corporate Personality Test by Edward Hoffman. Get it and do what it says. Period. |

I'm pretty sure it's standard. It's been on mine for months. Got the invite and CJO. Wouldn't sweat it if you've reviewed everything and it looks good.

Can you expand? you mean you had a message saying you didn't score high enough but got the interview invite? I just retook it and got the same "you didn't score high enough" message. I tried to be as consistent as possible, so I gotta wonder what is a pass. |

I see my app has the same message, not sure how long it's been there. I went through all my pages carefully, and looks like my total time on their grid was slightly off than my total time on my resume (didn't include dual or solo time the way they want it done), wonder if this is a generic message, or if it pretains to something specific on your app.

Correct. I was referring to the “Please check all sections of your profile for accuracy."
That’s been on my app for as long as I can remember. |
Mine says this....
Profile Summary “The status of your profile is Complete Profile last updated 12-MAR-2018 14:33:54. Message: Please check all sections of your profile for accuracy.” All green check marks on all sections On the Fit test tab “Welcome to the Organizational Fit Assessment of the Pilot Selection Process! Organization Fit Assessment has been completed.” Crickets since I did the app back in September. Figured being honest about a Letter of Warning on the “Have you ever been subject to any FAA enforcement action or investigation?” question was keeping me from a call. I would rather be honest and explain the old Letter of Warning (altitude deviation) than say no and explain later if it came up. |
On a separate note.
Who do you all recommend for a resume/app review? Thanks in advance. |

Checked and Set.
For example - my friend used them for AA. There's a question that says: Have you ever been removed from flight status, voluntarily or involuntarily, or failed flight training of any type, or failed any check ride? My friend busted two daily rides in phase 2 of UPT and they told him to check yes. That's a Delta thing. Delta has clarified that they want you to put down ANYTHING you've failed, including UPT sorties. Failing a contact sortie in the military is not "Failed flight training of any type" and should not trigger clicking that radio button. At least not for AA since no such guidance exists. I'm not saying app review services are bad, but I would exercise caution. |

I'd be careful with them or any interview/resume prep group. Sometimes they give bad gouged based on what other airlines want.

The HR lady, who was super awesome, asked me, "So these pilot training busts are the only ones?" I said yes and she moved on to the question. It's taken me 10 times longer to type this up then it did to cover the issue during the interview. |
Got the same message that I did not score high enough on the test. Does anyone know where people are failing the most? A friend told me a lot of the failures come from section 2 which asks about customer service type problems. Not sure if that is correct, but I'd really like to pass it the next time around...
|
I don't know if you'll be able to pinpoint exactly what part you didn't score high enough on. As far as the customer service scenarios go, I think each one has options that sort of run the spectrum from taking care of everything yourself to providing minimal help. I tended to pick the answers that involved as much of the team as necessary (i.e. I'd make sure the person was getting their issue resolved, but might get them to a gate agent, customer service rep, etc. as appropriate instead of me being late for a flight or something.) Don't know if that's the right way, but worked for me.

Same here. Since about 2014. I don’t get it. |
