Help !!! Trying to find in FM Part...
Trying to find where in the Flight ManuAAl that it says "after a Positive Rate of Climb, when calling for Gear Up, that one should simultaneously point at the Gear Handle with the hand wearing the Academy Ring, and make a motion in the Upward direction"...
Same thing goes in reverse for "Gear Down" - would that be in the same Chapter as well ??
Please provide said reference, and not just "that is the way we have always done it"... Even if the reference is the 1935 American Airlines Flight Manual for the Curtiss Condor...

Haha!
I remember a fella telling me that he went through a couple of entire months flying with a capt who never said a word to him.
Just would point at stuff and grunt.
Some folks just cannot be normal.

"Does he still call V2+10?"
Still required on the -9
The phenomenon is not all unusual, and not exclusively senior/old or junior/new.
Lots of folks still doing "whatever" this way or thst because that is "what they (some SimP anxious to get home early...) told me" one or nine or nineteen years ago - regardless of what the book actually said then or says now - or any consideration for technique or learning or flexibility or common sense or the current conditins or anything else.
Yes, follow the procedures.
And fly smart.
It is possible to do both.
