Default Food for thought

Any thoughts on AA trying to compete with Jet Blue on a JFK-LHR with a 321?

Did basic economy to compete with Spirit, so it wouldn’t surprise me!

AA has said they don’t intend to use the 321neo transatlantic.

JetBlue hasn’t confirmed they’re actually flying to LHR... it might be LGW or Stanstead.

AA has a large hub in LHR with British Airways...it's essentially another JFK. JetBlue as of now won't offer connections to Europe and beyond so it's not like they can offer something we cannot. Except blue colored chips.

Their mint product is nice but keep in mind we compete directly with them in the JFK-LAX and now BOS-LAX transcon market using the 321T and it has done well. I'm cautiously optimistic their entry will not be very successful.

Is the 787 replacing all 75 routes?

We don’t use the 757 from NY to London. All international out of JFK is777. JetBlue is going to struggle to compete. I think it was announced in hopes of spurring a takeover offer. After Norwegian and Wow’s performance I don’t think the big 3 are scared of a low cost narrow body across the pond. Unless it has the unlimited financial backing of a ME3 carrier.

The deck is really stacked against JetBlue being successful with this route. My guess is they will get their butts kicked.

The only way I see them succeed is to start an alliance with someone like EasyJet.
