I don’t think there is a hub to hub restriction. I’ve flown CLT-DCA, DCA-PHL on the CRJ. And pretty sure Mesa was doing a DFW-PHX flight at one point this summer.

I flew ORD-JFK in a weight restricted 145 ages ago.
Figured it was pure desperation to get the departure completed.
I don’t remember any scope issue with hub-hub. Just seats and weights. But I’ve been wrong many times before.

I flew many ORD-JFK flights several years ago, when I was at Eagle. My understanding is that it's always a Mainline route, but certain times during the year, they'd add an RJ at the end of the day to pick up the overflow. That was my whole line one month.
