Default Miami Commuter Hotels

I need recommendations for Miami Commuter Hotels.

* Hotel name,
* price,
* location,
* shuttle service,
* cleanliness,
* safety,
* nearby amenities.
* anything else you think I should know.

Thanks for your input.

I’d like to piggy back on this thread...

Are commuters based in MIA getting hotels or a crash pad typically? Are there decent hotels for $50 /night and are you being used on reserve regularly?

I commuted to MIA a few years back... at the time, you had a hard time finding a decent hotel for less than $120 or so. There’s a place called the Runway Inn that is about $70/night, but trust me... you do NOT want to stay there. It’s one of the few hotels that have grossed me out. Most guys used the Red Roof Inn as their “minimum standard.”

Depending on your situation, it might just be better to have a crash pad even if you have a line. I did that and it just made things a lot easier and was probably cheaper in the long run. To each their own though.

The quick and dirty from my stint in MIA:
-Get a crash pad. Budget $300. Hotels will run $100-$150/night.
-Uber from MIA to pad will be about $8 each way. Uber from pad to FLL is about $50. PBI will cost you $100. Budget another $300 in Uber.
-You will not fly every day. Don’t call scheduling and beg for a trip; you’re in the big leagues now. Enjoy your daily walks and bike rides. Budget $0.
