Ted Reed has a lot of experience covering USAir thru American. I remember his interviews with CEO Steve Wolf and that was 1996-98. He's been covering airlines since 1989 so 31 years experience. Doesn't mean you have to agree with what he writes thou. Remember, no one is an expert on a major pandemic's effect on the economy unless they're old enough to remember 1918 :p

Didn't somebody say that they would never lose money again? Maybe that was me before I quit goin to Vegas.

I don’t think anyone was considering a worldwide epidemic. I would bet if COVID was not an issue all airlines would still be very profitable.

1. Doug got out over his skis when he said that, never poke the black swan bear, don't even bring it up.
2. Nobody could have foreseen the worst crisis in history, just like people who grew up in the depression, this kind of thing sticks with you.
3. Mgmt was wreckless with the debt amounts. Check out our 10-k from February, before this was an issue. They spell out exactly how our debt levels put us in a challenging spot.
4. Parker said himself he's proud to never been at a bankrupt airline, let the man work.
