Jumpseat on a freighter

Is it possible for an offline pilot to jumpseat on a freight run?
If so, do I walk up to the gate and list, or is some kind of advance notice required? Of course, the flight does not come up on the myidtravel portal.

I think he may be referring to the all cargo flights that the Legacies have been operating.

Unfortunately, you need to be an AA pilot to be allowed on our cargo flights. We have no means to currently allow OAL pilots to JS on those. Most our cargo flights don’t originate at the gate either. So, CASS verification isn’t possible out on the ramp.

Yes it is.
We can do it on a smartphone anywhere.

Didn’t know Atlas policies applied at AA?

maybe he's saying it's possible? Whereas the other poster said it's not possible. FWIW every CASS participant can verify CASS through their own device.

Yeah. The guy who actually works for AA says it's not possible... not even for their own pilots...and the guy from Atlas says it is.

Who are you going to believe when it comes to AA's cargo flights?

Thanks for the response. That's too bad. The flights I was looking at, DFW or LAX to HKG, all seem to originate from a passenger gate

the AA guy said it's not possible to verify CASS on a ramp. The other guy said it is possible to verify CASS. since I've actually have verified someone via CASS on a phone I'm going to believe it is possible.
is it AA policy? I have no idea but that wasnt what either of us were responding to.
