Default APA Laughs, Mocks Furloughs and ZTL

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVi...YvvroWjg/about

If you're just interested in the real good stuff, listen from 1:30 on. The "I was furloughed so deal with it" mentality will forever keep this place from making the progress our brothers and sisters at UAL and DAL have made.

"Exactly what I deserved. ZERO". FO Janka should never be allowed to live this down.

Bad move but...zero concessions. Furlough me if that’s what it takes... I know what I’ll make.

That’s a totally valid stance.

But they gave us ZTLs which are concessions. It rids the company of the financial burden involved with furloughing. It’s extremely anti labor and very much a concession. They don’t consider it a concession simply because it doesn’t effect them.

The ZTL’s were a big concession. I believe we should have them (electively) but the way they were awarded gave the company all the power.

What pieces of garbage. They are actually laughing while talking about fellow pilots that are potentially losing their home, their life savings, and so on. Pathetic, truly sad.

Maybe it is not that the APA wanted it to happen, but thought it would be entertaining to see your reactions to being furloughed.

Heck, maybe, in some weird way, they're on board with furloughs.

What they got or didn't get is irrelevant.

This time was different. When they were furloughed it was a business model issue. There was no incentive or wish to keep pilots "ready to go." Covid is a catastrophic and nearly instantaneous loss of revenue from an otherwise sound and profitable business model. The revenue very well could return just as quickly. There was real opportunity here that this BoD inexplicably decided not to pursue under the guise of protecting against an 1113. The rallying cry of "I didn't get anything" is truly disgusting. I don't want these people representing me.

Your reaction to the BoD laughing and mocking pilots they are supposed to represent is not to condemn it, but to dig up out of context posts?

As to the whole "entertaining" comment I made, sure it may have been a little edgy and I may have pushed it a bit far. But the idea was to get you thinking down the line to the possibility of this effecting you. It would be like hiring a consulting group consisting of retired airways guys who lost their pensions after 9/11 to advise you, and them saying "well I lost my pension, sooo deal with it" Not so funny when it's your money on the line, and it seems that point was lost on you. That's okay.

As to the other quote you dug up from a BLM thread and decided to bring to this totally separate and unrelated conversation..... It's exactly what the senate did. And that's MY job that I actually lost that I'm talking about there.

I'll spell out the big difference since nuance isn't your thing: You're getting worked up over a totally hypothetical world where you have to sacrifice something, and I'm getting worked up over this reality we're living where I've actually lost my livelihood. And the people tasked with representing us laugh about it and mock us. Do you see the difference?

Bunch of out of touch *******s.

I managed to get a decent job. But I'll be damned of it wasn't luck. Most of my colleagues haven't been able to find anything.
