Default APA Suing AA for using non-union Check Airman

https://www.audacy.com/krld/news/loc...contract-terms

-APA is seeking a temporary/permanent injunction to stop management from using non-union Check Airman and presumably IOE Captains (article doesn't differentiate)

APA will have to meet a pretty high standard, otherwise the judge will just tell them to file a grievance. They'll have to prove harm that can't be fixed with a grievance award.

Both the article and your quote are completely incorrect.

This was my favorite part:

The process, whether it’s a simulator or in an actual jet, is kept as real as possible with all the cabin seats filled as though it were a real flight, right down to the person who fills an empty seat.

Oh, that's what a seat filler is? Great information source there.

Do they ever post the schedules of these training flight and can we catch a ride on them for commuting or leisure travel?

Nah, you have to pay for a ticket to add to the “realism” of the training

You can snag an easy first class upgrade on those OE simulator sessions.
