Until you get RA/AF/25 coded from that turn because of our current weak/non-existent reserve language. We should change it and make it clear cut...oh wait
CAW'd into a turn, RA'd into a 3-day...but variable premium right? At company option...so why would they pay 100 or 75 when 50 is on the table? Or what's more feasible is they'll bust up a trip to keep you inside your original seq footprint and then ya know, no preems for you; plus burn reserves to cover those other legs, then RA the next guy off a CAW, rinse repeat. Premium, prospect of double-dip, and any pay protection will be gone like a fart in the wind.

The Board rejected the TA with a 15-5 vote. So now let's hope they do away with that onerous CAW provision in the next one.

I will admit that I was up in arms about the CAW at first but if you think about it terms of our current RO which puts you on the hook every single day of your original trip, the “one bite of the apple”, as it has been coined, seems on PAPER to be a little better…I still don’t like the idea of sitting at the airport or in my car for 4hrs waiting for them to find something….ideally I would like it to be canceled before sign in: You stay home and can make yourself available to double-dip if you want(this would at least help commuters who commuted in a little)…canceled after sign-in: 1 hr from cancellation to find you something but cannot be forced to fly a trip that goes more than 1hr passed your original end time(again people bid trips to end a certain times for a lot of reasons).
This is all for blockholders and would require some tweaking for RSVs.

Trying to understand your example. You mean you show up for a trip, say a three day. It cancels and you get reassigned into just a turn? Then yes. The way I read it, once you finish that turn you’re done and go home with three days of pay. Just my opinion though, this kind of a windfall scenario is going to be rare.

The CAW window should be 1 hour. Maybe 2. The trip footprint should be respected no matter what, reassignment or recovery. Anything that goes past the original footprint end needs to be optional and premium pay.

How about no CAW, no RO, no RA. You own your trip and when it cancels you go home or repo into position the next live leg for the remaining trip. Being yanked around by company should be completely terminated.

OR voluntary RA, RO, CAW for premium.
