Talking today with my neighbor, a senior scheduler for AA. He says they are still very short this summer:

1. Need more pilots
2. Need more planes.
3. Need more FAA folks in NYC and DC

All of these are restricting. Passenger loads are chocked full.

They are expecting 53 million PAX this summer. He thought this was an all time record. Need more seats flying.

Last night deadheaded a crew from JFK to Europe. Had to bump First Class down to Coach. Some not too happy PAX, even with compensation. If they would have cancelled/delayed the flight they were covering, coming back, there would have been even more unhappy PAX. And with no extra wide bodies available, it would have just cascaded the problem.

Would nice if they didn’t sell the 330’s and brought them back instead

Anybody who has done the online PST test have a good prep service for it to recommend? Is it needed?

I just went for it, it’s more like games flying a ball through a tunnel, memory things with numbers, I found it kind of fun. There is prep which you can search on forums here but in my personal opinion wasn't hard

If they did, they would still be constrained by lack of pilots. On the narrow body side, I could wish they brought back the Mad Dogs. Neither are happening for this summer. I am the mayor of Realville.

No one predicted post Covid demand would come back this strongly, this rapidly. Not the airlines, not the airplane manufacturers, not the FAA.

Of the problems to have, this is better than the alternative for pilots.

You are the first I’ve seen that wants the MD’s back.

It would give domestic enough planes to tide them over to meet the high demand. Once there are enough new planes, they would go away again.

There still are not enough pilots to fly all the demand. And in NYC and DCA there are not enough ATC.

It ain’t happening.
