Default PHL QOL

Starting class next month. Currently live in Pittsburgh and debating between DCA or PHL. Want the option of international so that's why lga is out of the question. Plus I need a break from NYC as I'm based there with my current airline.

Wanted to get some advice/opinions on either phl or DCA qol and trips. Driving isn't really an option unless in a pinch(3.5 to DCA and 4:20 to phl) and phl has mainline which allows to reserve the js if need.

737 DCA FO runs junior I believe.
320 DCA is an International bid status, if you want that.

Otherwise, having a mainline jumpseat for Commuting is great to have. PHL is a bigger bid status, but no 737 in PHL. Should give you more flexibility being in PHL with mainline commute and bigger bid status, even. if you moved up the list a little slower. Also, another thing to consider is that DCA trips tend to be shorter than PHL trips. PHL has more 4 and 5 days. DCA has higher % of 3 day trips.

To piggy back on this, how’s the commute to PHL from DFW? It’s my 2nd choice if I can’t get DFW in class.

Keep in mind, you only have to cover one airport in PHL, and three if you are DCA based.

plenty of flights, all airbus back and forth on AA. You’ll be in the jumpseat probably 90% of the time with flights being full. Good news, crash pads and hotels around PHL are cheap. Downside, PHL is a dump and the airport is dead and never really bounced back from covid.

Sucks…. Reserving the jumpseat may make it tolerable.

I have great memories of Essington. If you like blue collar Irish Pubs, and WaWa, you’re going to love it!

That brings back memories. Used to fly charter out of ILG. Wawa is legit.
