Curious - How are non-rev, positive space travelers handled at the gate if they also have a status like PlatPro that entitles them to early boarding, Main Cabin Extra and comp upgrades?

status doesn’t do anything as non rev except boarding priority.

positive space doesn’t give you better upgrade status vs just being out on the list like anyone when positive space.

work it out with gate agent but "non-rev" travel status is always almost always treated different than revenue/paid status

I think having an AAdvantage credit card recently became a thing for A1 upgrade seniority, which is asinine.

But if I get a non-rev ticket , and I want to pay for an upgrade.. is that possible?? Is there any kind of discount ?

Non rev is non rev. You can get a 20% discount on a paid ticket.

You’re lucky to get a seat as a non-rev. 99% you won’t get first class on a domestic flight unless it’s regional

You can use your 20% discount to buy a revenue ticket

It’s Binary… 0 or 1…You're non-rev or you’re you’re on a paid ticket.
