need more information like where do you live and how old, etc.

The fact that you even bothered to go to the interview means youre halfway out the door

I know someone who was in your shoes a few years ago. 9 years at NK, and a CJO at AA. Took the job offer at AA and hasn’t looked back.

if you live in Dfw 100% yes. If you live in FLL I’d say stay at NK. Anything in between probably AA. I left NK after 4 years and don’t miss much about NK at all.

Other than being able to do anything with your schedule, I agree.

do it. If you are younger than 50. You will be able to upgrade within 1.5 -3 years depending on base.

there is a guy on here that left SWA to come here after he was there for a long time.

Malson make sure you are mentally able to take the first year pay cut from that Captains.

Why are you looking at leaving NK at the 9 yr mark?

Where do you live? Where do you want to live?

Have you figured out how much it will cost you in the first 10 years? What's the loss of income in the first 3 years? $300K? $400K?

What's the impact of the recent 2,000+ new hires last year alone vs <1000 retirements going to have on upgrade? 4,500+ in the last 2.3 years?

At some point the peak is past when it comes to quick upgrades. Figure 2% annual growth and known retirements and people might be able to come up with a decent SWAG for upgrade times for guys getting hired today.

You'll have to answer why you applied. 9 years and a CA? What did you see as being better at AA? In base vs commute? Mildly nicer gate agents? Slightly less hate when you tell people who you work for at parties?

I can see the 7 year SWA FO leaving because they'd have to commute to the opposite coast to upgrade, or the 16hr SWA CA to leave because he lives in MIA and is still on weekend reserve on MCO for SWA but what's the appeal for AA that's overpowering 9 year CA pay and schedule flexibility at Spirit?

Well given your screen name you'd get to fly a Boeing again.....

As to my 2 cents, if you can live in base, sure. If you're commuting, well then it depends on if you're commuting at Spirit. If you have to commute at both, then AA.

There may be logic in staying in you're in S Fl as well. As the first response to your post pointed out, there's other variables you're leaving out.
