Tons of WB movement. Hopefully the train keeps
roll.

I counted 253 CA vacancies, how does this compare historically? It looks like we actually shrink a few total numbers between June and July, before showing slight growth into December. Is this normal due to summer training slowdown? Newhire here, just trying to frame my expectations.

The numbers are wildly inaccurate and paint no clear picture whatsoever. They'll advertise 15 spots in a particular bid status and award 50. I think there are 68 WB CA vacancies. Could end up being 100 awards or zero.

I doubt they'll be fewer than advertised; there are a lot of retirements as planned, and there are always around 10% more than expected due to medical issues, etc.

Sure; they usually undershoot and there end up being more, I just stated it could be zero to emphasize the complete crapshoot they end up being.

It could be zero but very unlikely, also I believe the contract requires entitlements to given out if a certain percent of a bid status vacancy isn’t awarded.

Numbers are different in the results primarily due to backfills. Example - 10 PHX 320 CA advertised but may end up being 15 because 5 existing PHX 320 CA were awarded LAX WB CA.

Absolutely a crapshoot. The vacancy tells very little (although I think they are penalized for overshooting so that's why they always low-ball).

We have 20-30 more 737s on property but the total CA numbers expected on the airframe are basically the same as a year ago. The more you try to analyze it, the more you realize it's smoke and mirrors.

Wasn’t it a year or two ago that DCA wasn’t supposed to get any new CAs according to the vacancy and ended up with like 25 super junior 737 CAs out of nowhere on the award?

The only thing I’m hoping to read from these tea leaves is some solid movement at all levels with WB advertised to open up more outside of just LGA as we had been seeing — more senior people taking the bait opening up more downstream.
