FWIW, the CMO of another major carrier, that was not in BK at the time, pointed out to that carrier's pilot union safety committee that it couldn't help but notice that 80% of its aircraft maintenance write-ups were occurring at its hubs and/or crew domiciles.
IOW, it was pretty obvious to the Feds that crews were "carrying" discrepancies back to the hubs in the interest of completing the mission (or getting home).
(A contributing factor was probably the fact that most of that carrier's non-hub, or "spoke" maintenance has been out-sourced to contractors, and crews know that a write-up at an out-station usually results in a longer delay than would occur with in-house mechanics available.)
The point is, they do watch for that stuff. And probably with a higher-power magnifying glass when a carrier is in BK.
