You're right, what the heck are they thinking. They do all he hard work of transforming the company along with the efforts and sacrifice of the employees of AA and then they're expected to turn over the keys to a team with no skin in the game! Yep, you're right, they should just roll over and let Mr Parker and his team have it all on a silver platter!

I truly hope it works out well for all of us, but just to keep an accurate accounting, we should put this thread in a time capsule for a historical perspective in 5 years.

Well, if you cannot pay your bills and those that you owe money to think that someone else can get more of their money, then yeah, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

The only thing this management has "transformed" over the last 10 years is turning shareholder value into sawdust and employee promises into executive wealth. They've done no better managing this bankruptcy then they have the competitiveness and viability of the product over that decade. It's no wonder they've lost control now. They never were in control in the first place.

Tom's moment was that first news conference at DFW upon the announcement of chapter 11. That was his opportunity to make a good first impression and draw labor in closer as a critical asset, instead of pushing them farther away.

He blew it.

Speaking of time capsules, name ONE THING AMR has done right in the last 10 years. From a customer or employee perspective, that is. Set aside your management club card for a sec.

So here's their big chance to emerge from the lost decade with a big announcement, a fresh start, a partner with which to take on the industry - a lot of PR potential, I'd say. And what do they do? F it up with delays, missed opportunities and press releases that expose what's really at stake here - management egos and bonuses.

Idiots.

The only thing holding this up is ToHo packing his golden parachute. Dug is the jump master standing by the door to shove him out.

A JP Morgan analyst told a friend of mine that all the paperwork to merge financial operations & banking accounts has been ready for the past few weeks.

Grain of salt...
