If this goes through I wonder if Dougie will be kicked to the curb before hand? I sure would if I was on the board.

The DOJ is not "King". Their rational/complaint must pass legal tests. The fact that previous mergers have been approved un-impeded, will place the burden of proof on the DOJ that THIS merger somehow is different and damaging. Weather this thing gets approved/consummated, depends on how aggressive the interested parties pursue its desired conclusion. Keep an eye on Toho. If he twitches, the merger might be in jeopardy. If he and DP are in sinc, the deal will eventually get approval.

Won't "ToHo" make considerably more money if the deal doesn't go through?

No doubt he would get a sizeable bonus from bringing AA out of BK as a standalone entity, and he would keep his job for the time being after that. I believe that AA mgmt never wanted this US merger in the first place, but Doug got labor and some US investors on his side. Things could change very quickly

"the six states joining the suit are Texas, Arizona, Florida, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Virginia. The District of Columbia also joined the action."

They will also have a say. Look at those states. Not exactly big supporters of the current admin. Stick a fork in it.

Not sure that the states have legal jurisdiction on a Federal matter..

I know guys that bought houses because of this.
This is why a "done deal" is never "done".

This news today sure was a kick in the balls.

He might be one very happy guy I don't think he wanted Airways.
Now does he come after Blue and would the Feds even let that go down? Who knows, once again everything we know changes in a second.
