Anyone know how many years it would take for a new hire to get MIA 777 F/O?

Forward projection (not allowed by SEC rules ;)) - Junior MIA 777 FO has approx. 2000 guys on property below him. Pure retirements, with a static airline, would take 8 yrs. AA only - currently 56 777's. End of 2017 projection(+/-) is 65 777's and 29 787's, total of 94. What's the junior guy going to be then???? Based on AA only I'd think 5 yrs with a small chance of perhaps as quickly as 3 yrs as growth shuffle generates some unexpected opportunities. US merger, and how guys bid post SOC/SLI, will add some uncertainity. That's assuming that MIA gets a fair amount of the growth and for guys hired early in the hiring cycle. Good luck. |

Rumors of Sydney, Auckland, Singapore, Seoul. For a new guy to get based there? Price of the question just went up to $64,000 times X. AA only, base on retirements only, current manning/no changes, 4.5 yrs. Company has expressed interest, and needs, more West Coast presence. Some guys currently flying out of base will return, possibility for some newbies at the bottom. Guess, pure guess, 1-3 yrs. Some many moving parts. US merger SOC/SLI, the manning/bidding shifts that will occur based on that, significant influx on top w/b (777/787) growth will shift bidding patterns/generate opportunities. All of which will be influenced by the US guys transferring across that are senior to you. After the last 12 yrs it's a welcome change. And even if we were to incur a stagnant airline cycle the retirement bubble is about to burst which will generate the movement with a slight lag on the timing. Good luck. |
I was offered the job on Christmas Eve. I still need to do the medical.
How long does it take to get your medical clearance and a subsequent non conditional offer? I'm taking my medical on the 3rd of jan. I was told in an email from the support dept. that we can expect a 4 Feb class. For those of you who care, about 3000 mil and 2500 JetBlue 190/320 time. 2 internal recs. |

Thanks! They told us to expect the 4 Feb class date. Seems like y'all filled up the 21st. Since you're senior to me, you buy the beers right?
