kinda already known they were "open" to mediating this, they have been pushing that angle all along

The airlines sure, they've been begging for it. Not the DOJ, that's why I think this is good news.

No, the DOJ said they were open to settling. Baer even said so, in the most arrogant and smug way. He said he was open to settling, but filed the suit in such a way that settlement would be impossible. And we wonder why it took him over a dozen times to get confirmed through Congress.

I've heard just about every case like this has a mediator, while I hope they make use of him/her I don't know if this is game-changing news.

Something else kind of odd, maybe nothing. Both parties agreed to move the time on Wednesday with the judge from evening to morning.
