FORT WORTH, Texas and NEW YORK, March 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines and JetBlue Airways plan to terminate their interline traffic agreement and reciprocal frequent flyer program accrual agreement, which includes select routes from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) and New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Beginning today, each airline will no longer accept new interline sales for travel on the other carrier. Effective April 1, customers will no longer earn miles or points when traveling on eligible routes operated by the other airline. All American AAdvantage miles or JetBlue TrueBlue points already accrued through this partnership will be credited to customers' accounts and are not affected. The two airlines are working together to ensure these changes have little impact to customers.

Good, I hope we put the squeeze on them like delta is to Alaska.

I think this has more to do with US strong east coast presence. There's no longer a need to send customer onto B6 and give them revenue when an Airways plane can connect them up and down the East coast like B6 was..... I think this is a great company move.... Now time to partner up with Alaska and fill a huge gap in the new American network the Pacific NW.

Eh.... Alaska has been rumored. Add to that Delta trying to hose Alaska I think there might be something brewing with AA..... I mean code shares being expanded.

Just anecdotal BS, but Barger had a much friendlier relationship with Arpey/Horton and the story goes that AA+JB merger was in the works until Parker wedged his way between them and Parker has no love for the carrier that was trying to take his place.

AA already code shares with Alaska Airines.
