You must have the inside scoop as that is contrary to the public stance. Did you get that from AOL? They are never wrong.

Nobody can take your dreams.

Holy cow, dude, who peed in your cornflakes? You used to be a lot less
Of a Richard cranium about this stuff.

FWIW, I don't believe it either. It's a rumor that keeps floating around out here. I'll be bidding an AA base before we see widebody international out of PHX. Kirby mentioned it a while ago but with the switch to Oneworld and BA flying to LHR out of here I don't see it coming. Maybe a 787 or two a decade from now., similar to what Delta has out of SLC.

I know, I know, it's airliners.net, but according to the article linked in this thread (that I don't have a subscription to read), Scott Kirby has apparently pronounced that LAX will become the Pacific gateway for the new AA.

Count me in the group that will believe PHX is getting that job when I see it.

Yep, I was. But after supporting the C18 and the west in general only to be pxxxxx on, I got tired of your sxxx.

The west has the record for Richard Craniums and AHs in general.

9 out of 10 of you can go F yourselves.

As a new hire (well, CJO holder), am I right to infer that wherever I end up, a bunch of crews will be giving me the stink-eye etc. simply because I'm on the 'other' side of the system? It's sort of concerning, considering I'm definitely not a party to what's gone on previously.

Nah. My experience as a third lister is that I'm treated well and with respect from both sides. Don't worry about it. Plus, most of em will be gone in a few short years...

No, definitely not. I ride West jumpseats a lot and at the very worst (very limited scenarios), they just don't say much. Most of the time everyone is very nice. The whole East/West stuff doesn't exist very far outside the internet. You'll rarely find it in the cockpit or on jumpseats.

Ok, thanks, guys!

I'll scrap my plans for a tie-tack that could be rotated 90 degrees to be either a W or an E (MSRP: $6.75)!
