Default LAX (AA) reserve question

Greetings

I know the answer might change weekly, but I've searched and cannot find how long a (AA) new hire might have to wait to sit reserve at LAX?

Also, what equipment is based there? Thanks in advance…

I believe in the big AA hiring thread there were some numbers from the last bid. I think it was around 9000 for LAX73FO but maybe someone from Legacy AA can chime in.

a quick look shows lowest seniority on the 737 and A320 at 8976 and 8975 respectively. It is typically pretty senior. Everything is changing though with the movement going on.

That's a hard question to answer until a new hire actually gets there. For the July bid, the most junior FO dropped down to around 9400. Which is still about 500 numbers from the most senior new hires waiting to get to LA.

As far as the equipment goes, LAX has everything until the S80 goes away.

Default LAX (AA) reserve question

I was in the 2nd class, a LGA/320 guy trying to get back to LAX. The July Vacancy Award shows that the most junior LAX pilots will be seniority 9023 (LAX/320) and 9405 (LAX/737). The A320 guy is 384 pilots on property, i.e. currently flying not including pilots still furloughed or on a LOA, ahead of me. The B737 guy is 282 pilots ahead of me.

We're supposed to hire around 300 more pilots this year. I'm hoping to get to LAX within a year. We'll see.

Not before me, dude.

I'm below Jim (the last 737 guy - who I know), but ahead of you.

Thank you for your replies. One more question, is there a training contract or seat lock for training in a specific aircraft (18 months, etc)?

Thanks again...

Initial lockin is 6 months and the company can extend this up to an additional 6 months.
