All of you who post on C&R :D

Time to out yourselves over there! I've been dying to put a name to the posters.

I've put a similar post on C&R as well, under the "what the Nic list means for AA pilots"... You can find my name there!

I registered, got the email a few days later saying I was accepted but haven't logged in. I'll try to figure out my password and look around. Is it on the apa site or is it a seperate forum?

redthread 10-15-2014 03:53 PM

I was instructed (half seriously) to avoid that forum for the first year.

aa73 10-15-2014 04:00 PM

What, avoid it are you kidding!!! C&R is the modern day of internet Jerry Springer! You will seriously laugh, cry, scratch your head and convince yourself that you're crazy, all in a day.
Saabs it's on the main home page, to the right under your info. Click on the link titled Challenge & Response

Sliceback 10-15-2014 04:00 PM

^^ A real friend would have been serious. ;-)

Saabs 10-15-2014 04:04 PM

I'll give it a shot. Can't be any worse than cactiboss calling everyone "son"!

No, I got sucked in pretty quick but haven't gone back for a week. I've never seen such a collection of characters, poorly formed opinions, and outright hostility on a web forum before.

And I used to frequent some of the worst offenders on the internet.

aa73 10-15-2014 05:19 PM

Drizzle, you'll be back "like a dog licking it's own vomit" (common mantra for those who have sworn off C&R) :D

It's like crack I tell ya!

Btw your screen name (Drizzle) is one of those I mentioned on C&R...fess up man!

I just spent the last hour there thanks to you. The senior fellas sure do "love" your junior guys.

I know this merger is excellent for my career, but being involved with what I see over there makes me worry about how much I'll actually continue to enjoy flying with the people I work with.

The Drizzle 10-15-2014 05:34 PM

Also, I'm not THAT notorious.

aa73 10-15-2014 05:53 PM

What you'll quickly come to find is that those who frequent C&R and thump their chests are the nicest, most laid back folks that are an absolute pleasure to fly with on a trip. Well, 99.9% of them anyway.

You'll also find that hitting AA pilots with any kind of change is akin to pulling up the remains of the Titanic and getting her to sail once again. :D

R57, you ain't gettin off that easy! I will out you eventually ;-)

R57 relay 10-15-2014 06:02 PM

Oooh, a challenge! I'm actually a west pilot with the initials JJ.

It seems to me that a lot of the LAA guys have disregarded the fact that this was a merger and not a takeover. Change can be for the better.

crzipilot 10-15-2014 06:49 PM

I read the posts on C/R and I feel like I've taken a time warp to 1950, kinda like the new procedures we are being subjected to.

aa73 10-15-2014 07:04 PM

Ancestor worship, crzipilot....two words you'll become very familiar with over here. ;)

Diesel1030 10-15-2014 07:41 PM

I wanna know who 7576FO is..assume he she posts on c&r. I'm not posting on c&r until I'm off probation and then gloves are off :)

Al Czervik 10-15-2014 08:20 PM

my mind has been blown reading what those aa guys are saying about the Jumpseat. They have no clue about the benefits of this beyond great tool and they are crying that they dont want it. I feel like we are offering a kid a big bag of candy and the kid is having a temper tantrum about having to take it.
I was far more impressed with aa from the outside looking in.
Yikes!
Mind. Blown.

Dammit, JP, I had to wade through 7 pages of that thread to figure out who you were.

Heh. It's going both ways. You are responsible for my having to follow a new flowchart for the logbook. I HATE FLOWCHARTS

Right on TV!!

Ps 7576 is a good dude. I'm sure he'll out himself here too.

crzipilot 10-16-2014 04:19 AM

Flow charts?! we have flow charts? Hmmm...will have to look into that. AHAH....since the new procedures I feel like I've gone into retirement and just sit around. Kinda nice in some ways.....but also with the new procedures...babysitting procedures have increased on our side.

It's quite the culture shock at first but you get used to it eventually and before long you realize that you are amongst a dang fine pilot group that will drop everything to help you out.

The jumpseat issue is a sore issue right now, no different than it was for the AW pilots. I see both sides of the argument. Still on the fence. But hey, you can't expect a group to just accept a radical change like that after they've been doing their own thing for 50+ years. Of course it's going to cause friction.

Who I am, by 7576FO

You cannot get me on the dance floor in the United States, but after 2 Capirainia's in Rio de Janeiro I move like Travolta. 5 I take off my shirt.

I'm 2 blocks from the Pompano Beach Municiple Golf course, yet I do not have Quebec licience plates. (So I cannot golf Nov-April)

I was married once. To a woman...

I'm currently dating a very attractive Blonde lady that is a Cleveland Browns fan.

I'm a morning person.

If I were an animal? I'd be an Osprey. Or Giraffe. 3rd choice Turtle.

Ok, I warned ALL of you. AA is the Air Force. You will stand in this line until called. You will not speak. As far as the company and the union, if they didn't think of it: You will not get it.

Do not offer any suggestions. They will be not be processed.

It took a merge with USAir to change our MESSED up Vacation system. AA's vacation used to go May1-April 30. We would bid in January. There would be 8 rounds of bidding. I would NOT get anything I want in round 1 (I get 4 weeks) I would be ASSIGNED 3 weeks that I do not want in round 1. Round 2 is very short 6 days. The final week I would not get any of my choices and get Feb week1.

The last 2 years we moved our vac up to Apr1-Mar31 then last year was Mar1-Feb28 but guess what vacation banks are paid out in January.
So Feb vacation goes UNPAID> Guess what I got? Feb vacation.

This place is so messed up, that any change has to be an improvement.

I am very pleased with many of the changes taking place.

7576FO 10-16-2014 05:05 AM

More 7576FO,

I'm happy, I like my job, I love the 777 and miss the 757.

It' s just the that everything here is sub-standard to DAL UAL. For decades ALL i heard was "We have the best retirement in the industry"

Not anymore.

We are virtually the only place that uses TDY. Although it's dwindling recently. They used TDY to fix all kinds of problems.

Everything in scheduling is substandard to everywhere else.

I still, still after all these years write and suggest and try to get things brought to light.

Our closeout system is completely stupid. This should have been discarded in 1997.
Yes we still wait for numbers. Wasting, wasting, wasting.

You will see this on C&R alot, all this time mining data to not use or interpret it.

swaayze 10-16-2014 06:01 AM

Finally managed to pare back my visits to online forums somewhat. Plan is to continue to avoid C&R, but I hear it calling occasionally. Why must y'all tempt me more? Is there really value there (how this works? what's this code? who do I call for x?) or it is all pretty much urinating and moaning? Lord knows we don't need anymore East vs. West type discussion.

Ah, 7576 outed himself a year or two ago if you were paying attention. Something about a sequence he was flying the next day to somewhere...a little gumshoe action with the N4's was all it took.

Hi, C! ;)

Yes, I played this morning for 2.5 hours. It was low humidity (for here),

And I think very highly of aa73! We need more guys like you.
