Where to live in DFW?
Looking to relocate to the Dallas area. I don't know much about it other than what I saw in training and on overnights. Where do most AA pilots live? I'm married, in my early 30's with no kids yet. The wife has a pretty good job as well. We are looking for a great area with lots of restaurants, shopping and things to do. Somewhere that's reasonably close to DFW but also within 30 minutes or so from downtown Dallas. We would like to stay in the $350k-400k range if possible. May be able to go a little higher if necessary. Any help would be appreciated.

In your boat, I'd look in addison/plano/Mckinney areas. I like the Fort Worth side of the jethroplex, but I'm married with kids, and a stay at home wife.

If you are looking at surburbia then Coppell, Grapevine, Colleyville. Grapevine first in that price range.
|
Southlake may be out of your range, but I'd look at that as well. Very nice area.
Grew up in Grapevine so I'm biased to that area... I'd go for that before anything else. Within 15-20 min of the Airport, and 30 min of almost any shopping you can think of. |
Thanks for all the responses guys. I have my work cut out for me. Dallas is huge!!

Also Euless. It's come a long way in the past decade or so.

I'm going to be looking out west, towards Aledo and Weatherford. Better schools out that way, plus we want to get an acre or two.

what part of town is wife going to be working at. Happy Wife, Happy Life

I live in Coppell and it's great. A lot of AA types live in Flower Mound.

My Dad worked at AA and we lived in Flower Mound. It's gotten pricey over the years but it's close to the airport and the schools are great. There's almost no crime.
