... or thinks no one is watching. The restaurant has a reasonably priced 3 course pre fixe menu. It also has a separate, more expensive menu. The pre fixe menu with reasonably priced drinks should have sufficed.

I don't know many pilots who would spend their own money on $400 per person dinners. Especially with a reasonably priced pre fixe option. This doesn't pass the common sense test.

This. While hardly indicative of a "corrupt organization", but it is very disappointing.

When you find yourself making statements like this about your co workers it's time to do everyone a favor and get out of the industry. It's obviously you that's the problem.

I wouldn't have quite put it that way but I agree with his point.

Pilots are sheeple and have become the "masses" bereft of any meaningful leadership.

Thank you for your kind thought, but no need to waste your time on me any longer. I have discovered I am the problem and cause for the state of the industry. I am getting out so that it will suddenly be perfect.

Alas, since I am leaving, I will never be able to drink $350 bottles of wine compliments of the APA members, but I will feel wonderful knowing that I saved not only the APA, but the entire industry!

Whoever orders the next $350 bottle of wine, please drink a toast to the guy that stepped aside and allowed the industry to flourish.
