Not sure I'm buying the change was part of the AAL Board succession plan as Parker wrote.

I for one am happy he's gone. I think Isom is twice as smart, and not as reptilian. Also, the WSJ is reporting that Kirby was told to 'transition out' of AA. Hmmmmmm, Campbell and now Kirby... Not trying to read too much into this but maybe the antagonistic anti-labor folks are being shown the door.
Don't get me wrong, not saying it's unicorns, rainbows and lollipops, but I think this is better than another Kirby spew on the importance of RJs to our career!

Kirby was a snake. I never liked him. I have no idea how much of the success Parker enjoyed while at AWA and US was attributed to him, however.
Isom is a likeable guy who I'm always pleased to see do Crews News, and he has really whipped US into shape over the last couple years.
I'm encouraged by this change and the board's decision to cut Kirby. Only issue I have with is the non-compete agreements being absent. My wife has one in her contract and she is just a low-level employee at a technology company. Kirby has insider knowledge about the plans of AA and now works for one of our main competitors.

Landing at United - I'd call that landing on your feet. I'd love to know the company he worked with on his transition.
I frankly don't see the fit for united but whatever - if the company he worked with is good he'll have locked in a big multi-year deal so can cash out no matter what. Be curious if he is still there in five years.
