TTOT

Yes I've used that. My trip from moment ttot went live was never legal to trade for anything. I'm quite familiar with the system having worked with it at eagle formerly. Was hoping, yet knew my hopes were worthless, that the system wouldn't be so strangling here. Not the case I guess.

I've been very busy with personal issues so tried to focus on the operational issues I needed with FOS. I've only scratched the surface on TTS and TTOT. I used the APA app to look at open time for a day I wanted to trade a redeye for a real 3day. Tried a trade, but denied because of reddish, red, redder, real honest-to-God...whatever. Signed up for litesabre. Tried it and denied. Not 30 seconds later got a message that trade was done. ??? no idea how or why, but got about 5 more hours. Paid for itself for several years. After this month I'll spend more time on it. Right now got to get through the page of "Yeah, but..." on PBS for Nov.

You can not trade anything for two anythings, or vice versa.
You can only trade one-for-one.
You might do that, and then pick up the other, but it is rare to trade down in days. Rare, but not impossible always. Four days are especially tough to get out of, except for another. Weekends are nearly impossible to get out of. Sometimes you can move weekend trips back or forward a day, sometimes two, but rarely get out of them. Sometimes you can't even trade the same length trip the same damn days, and no one anywhere unsderstands that one. Turns will drop, two days will usually drop. Meaning other pilots will take them if you post them. Occasionally three days will go away.
Bid the days off you need first, then work on trading for commutability etc.

On our union website under scheduling is Trip Trader. Very few use it. When I was a line holding 777 FO I would post in there also. You can write a whole paragraph on what your trade pref's are. Like take this UNC or willing to trade for this...
I had great success with this. Many times 30 min's prior to TTOT a commuter would call me and take my trip.
I also would write some funny stuff in there.

You can also post your trips 'below the line'.
The nicer and shorter the trip the more likely that it would be taken.
That can be done as soon as the bids are final by contacting the posting pilot. Otherwise you have to wait for TTOT to open to grab a posted trip.
